Punta Arenas, venue of the XXV World Congress

Punta Arenas, capital of the Magallanes Region and Chilean Antarctica (Chile), will be the main stage of the activities of this meeting, during the week of September 23 to 27, 2024. The AMMPE World Congress will also be deployed to Puerto Williams. Activities with the community in Porvenir and Puerto Natales are also considered.

PUNTA ARENAS

Punta Arenas is the capital of the Magallanes Region and Chilean Antarctica. It is bathed by the waters of the mythical Strait of Magellan and is located near the most autral continental tip of Chilean Patagonia and the American continent.

PUERTO WILLIAMS

The southernmost city in the world is Puerto Williams and is located about 600 kilometers south of Punta Arenas, on the north coast of Navarino Island and on the southern shore of the Beagle Channel. It is the capital of the Antarctic Province.

What is AMMPE?

We are the World Association of Women Journalists and Writers, founded at its first World Congress in Mexico City in 1969.

What is the World Congress?

The World Congress is a biannual event that brings together journalists and writers, members of AMMPE World and special guests, since 1969. The meeting makes it possible to address the social, cultural, political and technological issues of the moment and the most pressing challenges related to journalism, communications and literature.
